The original 1982 “Thriller” album is now available in Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Lossless audio format on Apple Music.
Dolby Atmos is a surround sound technology, which expands on existing surround sound systems by adding height channels, allowing sounds to be interpreted as 3D objects.
It was only launched last year, in May 2021, in Apple Music. It’s branded as Spatial Audio and can be listened to fixed, or it can dynamically head track, so that as you move your head from side to side and up and down, the music sounds like it’s coming from different angles.
