A fan-made image of MJ as Edward Scissor Hands
If you're a fan of the movie "Edward Scissorhands" , you probably wouldn't imagine anyone else in the lead role other than star Johnny Depp. But Edward was not written specifically for the actor, anything less than Michael Jackson would have stayed with the character!
The King of Pop was director Tim Burton's first choice but due to scheduling conflicts [Jackson had just finished the exhausting tour of the Bad album and was in the studio recording songs for a greatest-hits collection ] - the role ended up being for Johnny Depp, which ended up marking the beginning of the well-known partnership between the actor and the director, in a total of seven films.
Michael could not star in Tim Burton's film but he made a point of buying the character's metal hands, which were later on sale at a charity auction held by MJ himself.
